What would you wear to the airport?

A little chapeau goes a long way as it covers the not-so-amazing hair moments and as a bonus, protect you from the sun's rays! From brimmed straw hats to caps - a head cover-er is definitely an important element of a recipe for a fabulous airport outfit! Who knows, you may be bumped up to first class?
Blazers and light layers also keep you warm on board (gotta love the wonderful chill in the air on board - not!) and looks pretty chic.
Just this year I was about to board the plane, waiting in line with my trench coat, scarf, distressed jeans and flats - a lovely couple from San Francisco jokingly asked "What are you doing here in the economy line? You should be in first class!" I truthfully expressed "It's okay, my heart is in first class..." and we conversed and laughed til we found our seats...

Je suis désolé! Mais the next stop: Paris, the city of lights and amazing macarons

I am sorry for neglecting you tapyourrubyheels blog, even though no one reads you, I still love you (sometimes). And if you do happen to read this... Bienvenue!!
Alas, I have found the perfect place to rest your tired feet and soul. Let's tap our heels and come along with me to a pretty old town, Paris.
I think we'll check in and drop our (chanel) bags before we hit Ladurée ou Chanel boutique ou Pierre Hermé ou Louvre. We'll be staying at the Ritz hotel en the CoCo Chanel suite where elegance and timelessness manifests, not just in this suite, but in every nook of this hotel building.

Just a bit of background, mademoiselle herself lived here from 1934 until her death in 1971. With “elegance, hygiene, efficiency and beauty” in mind, this haven embodies the late CoCo. It is not the largest suite in the Ritz, Paris, but it is one of the most legendary, beautiful and rich in history - umm hello, the diva of fashion chose to reside here. Located à 15, place Vendôme, Paris, it is no more than a 15 minute walk to Musée du Louvre, a 5 minute walk to the orginal Ladurée (Ladurée Royale).

At $4,300 (USD) a night, you better hurry up and tap your heels with me, because there is only one CoCo Chanel suite. If you're late, you might have to stay in Elton John's, which do you prefer? Tell me...
The wonderful and always fabulous Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen were spotted here, so why can't we be? Just tap your ruby heels, I'm telling you!

2nd stop: SoHo House, New York

Okay! Feeling a little uninspired today? Welllllll... Close your eyes, tap your ruby heels and over the rainbow we go! We're just about to land at the roof top of SoHo House in New York City. The exclusive members-only hangout-slash-hotel is where we will frolic around for the next few hours (after tapping your heels, make sure you do, or you will never get there!).

The equivalent of the Justin Hemmes' infamous Ivy Pool in Sydney, Australia but it's in New York City which takes it to a whole new level of chicness. Wait and add a few more levels of greatness and then a million more levels and then there... You've probably realised the grandness of this piscine (swimming pool in french). It doesn't hurt that while I'm swimming or pretending to, I can have a quick look at my most favourite building in the world, the chrysler building.

Do you feel like brunch? (Probably not, since you're probably lounging with the models and wannabe models of NYC, but for the purpose of this trip and because my eyes and stomach have a huge appetite, I'm going to say yes!)
I've had a quick look at the menu and I already know what to order: A wild mushroom omelette, a side of zucchini fritti and of course a verre de champagne.

What would do you feel like eating?

Also, just incase you're wondering how I got us all in, well you see... I managed to get my hands on the U27 local house membership without having to wait a couple of months/a year for them to process my application. You're kinda lucky today I guess.

1st stop: Sahara desert, Morocco

With all the hype surrounding the Sex and City 2 premiere, I believe it's only appropriate that my first post will be pay tribute to all the glam and chicness that is able to surround travel (in a film). Who can do it better than the fictitious characters of SATC?

Looking forward to being one of the first in little Sydney, Australia to drool over their, as Samantha would say, fabulooouus life and holiday in Morocco.

As awkward as the situation is (and believe me - I've actually been on a camel's back before!)
they make riding a camel look... what's the word? Fabulous? As they literally strap on their heels and venture through the Sahara desert.

It seems anything and everything is possible after all.

Okay, so this is the rule with each post:
Tap your ruby heels with me and let's pretend we are somewhere else.
P.s. I'm not here to tell you numerous facts about a given city or country, nor do I claim to know them. I just hope for my love for exploring and traveling to be shared!

Today we will be in Morocco!

Okay, so this is where we will stay:
From US$ 1050 a night, of course we're going to access to our own private pool and outdoor and for afternoon tea, of course we're going to be served bubbly just as Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte are. And also, of course his charm will be reminiscent of Aladdin's.

I'm guessing we'll just sit around like this by the desert, munch on macaroons and dates, drink the heat away, ride camels and breath in the beauty that is the Sahara desert.

I hope you enjoyed your ride and thank-you for tapping your ruby heels with me!
